Chain Categories Move to the Shared Categories System

09/09/2026

Version: 2.20.0, Date: September 9, 2026

Chain categories were the last private category system in the app. Chains used a free text box, and the filter on the chains list was built from whatever anyone had happened to type, which is how values like “Default Workflows” ended up looking like real categories. Chains now use the same Categories building block as every other asset, so there is one place to manage categories and one set of names.

Chains

  • Improved: The chain editor uses the shared category picker in place of the free text box, in both save paths. A category is still required, so the prompt now reads “Choose at least one category”.
  • Improved: The chains list uses the shared category filter and shows category chips in every view mode.
  • Improved: Your existing filing is preserved. The old value each chain carried is kept and left readable, so nothing is lost while you retag.
  • Removed: The old category dropdown, which listed typed in text rather than real categories.

Building Blocks

  • New: Chains join the list of features a category can be made available in, labeled “Chains”.
  • Improved: Existing chains are not retagged automatically. The 21 chains between them use nine typed values, and several of those have no obvious home in the shared taxonomy, so the choice is left to you rather than guessed.

09/13/2026

Version: 2.32.0, Date: September 13, 2026 Highlights Topic pack focus is a new, optional section in “Add topics” that tells generation what the pack is for. Leave it closed and everything works exactly as it did. Open it and you choose the stages your topics should cover, which turns a general list into one built […]

Topic Popup Now Names the Topic You Are Editing

09/12/2026

Version: 2.31.4, Date: September 12, 2026 The topic popup did not tell you which topic you had opened, which is easy to lose track of in a large pack. It does now, and the A to Z sorting is split so you can order topics and subtopics independently. Building Blocks

Subtopic Generation Stays on Topic and on Count

09/12/2026

Version: 2.31.3, Date: September 12, 2026 Subtopic generation inside “Edit topic” now does what the name suggests. Generating from that window used to be able to create new topics rather than adding to the one you opened, and the count you set was a starting point rather than a result, because anything filtered out as […]
