Add Subcategories in One Flow, Without Leaving the Page
Version: 2.30.0, Date: September 12, 2026
You can now add subcategories in the same flow that creates the category. Creating a category from a picker used to stop at the category itself: filling in its subcategories meant leaving the page you were working on and coming back, which is enough friction that most categories never got any.
Building Blocks
- New: Creating a top level category opens an “Add subcategories” step straight afterward, in a second window, without leaving the page. Generate them with AI, add them by hand, or describe them, using the same builder the category editor uses.
- New: Saving adds the subcategories and returns you to what you were doing, with the new category still selected and its subcategories ready in the dropdown. Canceling keeps the category you just made.
- Improved: Creating a subcategory attaches it and opens nothing further.
- Improved: This works everywhere the shared category picker appears: libraries, library settings, analyzers, blueprints, chains, and the topic, variable and Main Section windows.
Libraries
- New: An Auto-write button on the library description, on the create page. It writes from the library name and, when you have attached any, from the categories and subcategories, so the description matches the subject and angle rather than guessing at both.
- Improved: It needs a library name first, uses AI credits, and handles quota and key errors the same way as every other Auto-write button.
