Auto-write: AI Writing Help in Every Editor
Version: 2.6.0, Date: August 21, 2026
Auto-write is now consistent everywhere you write copy in EnginifyAI. The same feature previously went by different names on different screens, appeared on the create page but not the edit page of the same thing, and was missing entirely on a couple of fields where it would obviously help. One name, one button treatment, present on every field that supports it.
Highlights
- One name everywhere: every AI writing assist in the app is now called Auto-write and looks the same.
- Two new places: saved prompt descriptions and section instructions gained Auto-write for the first time.
- Fixed a gap: the card short description button existed but never appeared when editing an existing card.
- Room to write: the section instructions box now grows with the text instead of hiding it behind a scrollbar.
Prompt Studio
- New: The section editor’s “How should AI use this section?” field has an Auto-write button. It uses the section title and its field labels to draft the instruction, and shows the same usage messages as everywhere else. This covers both ways into the editor, cloning and customizing an existing section, and building a custom section from scratch.
- Improved: That editor’s toggle is now labelled “AI Instructions” instead of “I’ll write the instruction”, which describes what it actually does. The two way toggle is unchanged: “Let AI figure it out” is still a distinct saved mode that the engine reads, not just a label.
- Improved: The section instructions box grows with its content, so neither text you type nor text Auto-write generates gets clipped behind an inner scrollbar.
- Improved: The Auto-write button on a card’s short description now appears when editing an existing card. It was already built, but only ever rendered on the create page, so the option silently disappeared as soon as a card was saved.
Saved Prompts
- New: The Description field on a new saved prompt has an Auto-write button. It had no AI assist at all before. The button stays disabled until you have entered a title, then writes a description of up to 200 characters from your title plus the prompt body when you have already written it, or from the title alone when you have not. It trims cleanly at a word boundary rather than cutting mid word.
Analyzers
- Improved: Both Generate buttons are now called Auto-write, on the short description and on “What should this analyzer evaluate?”, across both the create and edit screens. The helper line under the goal box, which still referred to the old button name, was updated to match.
