Prompt Version Control — Redesigned Editing Interface
October 15, 2025
The prompt version control editing interface has received a comprehensive overhaul focused on usability. Text areas now auto-expand to fit your content, column headers stay aligned across the three-panel layout, and navigation makes it easy to jump back to the parent library. The interface also features improved empty states, a new informational banner explaining the workspace, and consistent visual styling throughout.
Improvements
- Auto-expanding text areas — The prompt editing textarea now automatically expands to fit your content when the page loads, eliminating the need to manually resize. If you do manually resize the textarea, the auto-expand behavior intelligently disables itself so your preference is respected.
- Navigation back to parent library — Library names and column headers in the version control interface are now clickable links that take you back to the parent library. Dedicated “Go to Library” buttons provide additional navigation options with clear hover states.
- Synchronized column headers — All three columns in the version control layout now maintain consistent 80px header heights, eliminating the visual misalignment that occurred when one column had more buttons than another.
- Improved empty states — When no version is selected, the version panel now shows a clear “Select Version” message with a directional arrow pointing toward the version history list, making the intended workflow immediately obvious.
- Informational workspace banner — A new banner at the top of the version control page explains how the workspace functions — what each column does and how versioning works — helping users who are new to the feature get oriented quickly.
- Consistent visual styling — The entire interface now uses a consistent purple color scheme with frosted glass effects, standardized button styling with matching padding and shadows, and improved visual hierarchy through proper spacing and typography.
